The Study of the Effects on Unemployment of Public Aid to Reneawable Energy Sources is important for several reasons. Mainly, the Spanish experience is considered a leading example to be followed by many policy advocates and politicians. This study presents, for the first time, a critical analysis of the current performance and impact that this policy has made. Most important, it demonstrates that Spanish/EU-style «green jobs» policy clearly hinders Spains’s way out of the current economic crisis by the time US politicians consider that adopting such a scheme will help them leave their crisis behind.
